This 9 Days Uganda Gorillas & Kenya Big Five Safari will take you on an African safari odyssey to Uganda Kenya and Tanzania all in a fortnight. This 9 Days safari will give you the best possible opportunity of encountering the primates of Uganda as well as several of the savanna wild mammals of Kenya. While on this tour, you are in for a memorable encounter with the giant Mountain gorillas as you visit Bwindi National Park. You will also traverse several pristine wild eco systems of Kenya as you visit Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara that are filled with a myriad of African wild mammals, birds and dramatic landscapes.

Day 1: Arrive at Kigali airport, you will be picked from the airport and transfer to a hotel in Kigali
Day 2: Visit the genocide memorial and drive to Bwindi

Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali to catch your flight to Jomo Kenyatta airport in Kenya for the second phase of this safari

Detailed safari itinerary
Day 1: Arrival, pick up from Kigali airport and transfer to a hotel
Upon your arrival to Kigali International airport, you will be picked up by one of our safari guides who will warmly welcome to Rwanda – the land of a thousand hills.

Day 2: Visit the Kigali genocide memorial and drive to Bwindi
You will kick off this safari with a visit to Kigali genocide memorial museum. This museum captures the horror of the 1994 Rwanda genocide in which this country fell into turmoil as over 800,000 are believed to have died as the Hutu people massacred the Tutsi in a period of about 90 days. After you visit to the memorial, you embark on your transfer to Bwindi park, home to the biggest primates on earth the giant mountain gorillas. This 110km or 3-4 hours journey to Bwindi National Park takes you on a spectacular journey through the countryside of this rather pristine country. You will get to encounter numerous Rwandans going about their daily activities and these will range from trade to farming their lands. Also, expect to be blown away by the amazing rolling hills of Rwanda which surely confirm to you why this country is referred to as the land of a thousand hills.

Day 3: Meet the gorillas of Bwindi
This day you will get you to actually meet the gorillas as you engage in a memorable gorilla trekking experience which will have you meet these gentle giants in their natural habitat. You will spend an hour observing these majestic creatures in order to have an understanding about their habits which aren’t far from our own.

Day 4: Drive back to Kigali and fly to Nairobi
You will be transferred back to Kigali airport where you will catch your flight to Kenya and land at Jomo Kenyatta Intl. airport where you will be received by our Kenyan guide who will transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi city.

Day 5: Transfer to Masai Mara and do an afternoon game drive here
This day kicks off with a transfer to Masai Mara. Masai Mara lies about 210km or 4-5 hours drive from Nairobi. Upon your arrival to Masai Mara, you will undertake an afternoon game drive which is meant to reveal to you the hidden wonders of the Mara plains.

Day 6: Full day spent in Masai Mara
Today you will have a chance to experience Masai Mara to the very best outcome given that you’re going to spend the entire day exploring this vast eco system filled with natural wonders. The day commences with a sumptuous breakfast that’s not only aimed at giving your taste buds a thrill of Magical Kenya’s food but also to feel you up so that you can have a wonderful game drive experience without worrying about being hungry. Day 7: Second day fully spent exploring the Mara plains
Day 7 is more or less like day 6. You will get to wake up to the amazing wild melodies of Masai Mara as you get to hear various animals sound their alarms and birds twitter to welcome the new day. You will have breakfast then go for a morning game drive to perhaps a different sector of Mara then an afternoon game drive is also available should you need it.

Day 8: Drive to Nakuru National Park and engage in an afternoon game drive
Today, you will drive to L Nakuru National Park, this park is a 4-5 hours drive away from Masai Mara. Upon your arrival here, you will engage in an afternoon game drive, A visit to this park ensures that you are primed to encounter wild mammals such as the both the black and white Rhinos, Cape Buffaloes, Hippos and Giraffes. If you are into birding, Lake Nakuru is a birders heaven as its home over 400 bird species and its famous for its high concentration of both Greater and Leser Flamingos. Other bird species to look out for while in Nakuru include Greater white Pelicans, Abyssinian thrush and the Bateleur. After your game drive, you will retire to your lodge and relax on your porch as you take in the sights and sounds of Lake Nakuru.

Day 9: Transfer back to Nairobi city where the safari ends
This is the last day of your wild adventures and it also marks the beginning of your beach holiday experience. You will depart from Amboseli National park and embark on a 6-7 hours drive to Nairobi and this concludes what has been an exhilarating wildlife safari adventure.
