This 10 Days Gorilla meets Simba safari is a Uganda Kenya primates trekking & wildlife safari which is aimed at giving you the best primates and savanna wildlife encounters these 2 have to offer. While on this Uganda Kenya safari, expect to meet with the primates of Uganda as you get to visit Kibale and Bwindi Impenetrable national parks which are home to Chimpanzees and gorillas respectively. In Kenya you will encounter numerous savanna wild mammals as you are set to visit Lake Nakuru National park and Masai Mara Game reserve.

Detailed safari itinerary 

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale with enroute lunch in Fortportal 

This day will have you transfer from Entebbe to Kibale National Park, Kibale NP is located 350km or 6-7 hours drive away from Entebbe. While on this journey you will encounter numerous Ugandans going about their daily activities and these will range from trade to farming their lands. As you drive to Kibale look out for sprawling tea plantations that will surely take your breath away. You will have an enroute lunch in Fort Portal town before you finally arrive at your lodge in Kibale forest.

Day 2: Trek the Chimpanzees and visit Bigodi community

On this you will have a chance to have an upclose encounter with the man’s closest wild cousin the chimpanzees as you engage in an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale national park which is home to these humbling primates. In the afternoon you will get a chance to visit Bigodi wetland sanctuary this visit will give an opportunity to engage with the locals of this areas and have a personal experience of their daily lives.

Day 3:  Drive to Bwindi

Day 3 will have you transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable park which is home to the biggest primates on earth the giant mountain gorillas.

Day 4:  Meet the Gorillas of Bwindi

This day you will get to actually meet the gorillas as you engage in a memorable gorilla trekking experience which will have you meet these gentle giants in their natural habitat. You will spend an hour observing these majestic creatures in order to have an understanding their habits which aren’t far from our own.

Day 5: Fly back to Entebbe an catch your next flight to Nairobi

Today you will transfer to Kisoro and catch a flight to Entebbe for your onward flight to Nairobi. You can choose to have lunch in Entebbe before you fly to Nairobi. You will be received at Jomo Kenyatta international airport Nairobi city upon your arrival by one of our expert safari guides who will usher into Magical Kenya. You will then be transferred to your Nairobi hotel.

Day 6: Transfer to Masai Mara

 This day commences with your journey to Masai Mara. Upon your arrival to Masai Mara, you will undertake an afternoon game drive which is meant to reveal to you the hidden wonders of the Mara plains.

Day 7: Full day Masai Mara

The day commences with a sumptuous breakfast that’s not only aimed at giving your taste buds a thrill of Magical Kenya’s food but also to feel you up so that you can have a wonderful game drive experience without worrying about being hungry. The guide will take you on a morning game drive adventure as you follow some of the game tracks that will ensure to maximize your chances of having an encounter with some of the big five dwellers such as the largest land mammal the African Elephants, the king of the jungle lions which you might spot patrolling their territories, the cape buffaloes that roam the grasslands of these Masai plains, the African Leopards that are famous for their stealth abilities that enable them to catch their prey with surprise. Beyond the big five you still have a chance to see numerous wild dwellers such as Wildebeests, Plain Zebras, and Masai Giraffes and many more. It is safe to note that Masai Mara has the highest concentration of predators more than anywhere else in Kenya.

Day 9: Second day of unlimited game drives

You will get to wake up to the amazing wild melodies of Masai Mara as you get to hear various animals sound their alarms and birds twitter to welcome the new day. You will have breakfast then go for a morning game drive to perhaps a different sector of Mara then an afternoon game drive is also available should you need it. You can also choose to opt to visit a Masai community at an extra fee. A visit to any of these communities that dot the Mara plains puts in you a great space to come close to these amazing people that have managed to co-exist with the wild animals that are found here for thousands of years. You will also have a chance to interact with Masai warriors who are highly rated for their spear throwing skills and, in the past, these guys were highly revered for their bravely as they only got these titles through managing to kill lions with their spears. However due to conservation efforts, this practice has been largely abandoned by many these people hence nothing should worry you in that regard. You will also have a chance to enjoy the rather rhythmic Masai dance which involves these towering Masai men jump to towering heights while not bending any part of their body.

Day 9: Drive to Lake Nakuru and do game viewing enroute to your lodge here

Today you will wake up in the morning for breakfast after which you will check out of your lodge and embark on a 160km or 3-4 hours journey to Lake Nakuru National Park. A visit to this park ensures that you are primed to encounter wild mammals such as the both the black and white Rhinos, Cape Buffaloes, Hippos and Giraffes. If you are into birding, Lake Nakuru is a birders heaven as its home to over 400 bird species and its famous for its high concentration of both Greater and Leser Flamingos. Other bird species to look out for while in Nakuru include Greater white Pelicans, Abyssinian thrush and the Bateleur. After your game drive, you will retire to your lodge and relax on your porch as you take in the sights and sounds of Lake Nakuru.

Day 10: Drive back to Nairobi

This is your last day in Masai Mara and you will check out of your lodge and embark on a 270km or 4-5 hours drive back to Nairobi where your safari ends.
