This 8 Days Uganda Primate safari has been intricately crafted to give you a memorable African gorilla and chimpanzee adventure as you get to visit both Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park the home of the elusive Mountain gorillas. In Bwindi, you’re on-course to take part in a thrilling gorilla habituation experience which means you have won yourself 4 hours with these magnificent creatures at close range. Kibale National Park, “the primate capital of the world” with 13 primate species freely roaming the jungles of this park is the next destination on this safari. While in Kibale, you’re destined to encounter man’s closest wild relatives the Chimpanzees that will leave you intrigued given their uncanny resemblance to us in terms of habits. You will spend 4 hours with these chimps before you finally close of this amazing safari with a community visit to Bigodi.
Safari highlights
Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe and transfer to your hotel in Entebbe
Day 2: Transfer to Entebbe airport and fly to Bwindi.
Day 3: Meet the gorillas of Bwindi as you engage in a gorilla habituation experience
Day 4: Enjoy an animating nature walking safari in Bwindi following the Ivy trail
Day 5: Transfer to Kihihi airstrip and fly to Kasese airstrip then drive for 1.5- 2 hours to Kibale
Day 6: Meet the chimpanzees of Kibale as you do chimpanzee habituation and visit Bigodi community
Day 7: Transfer to Kasese airstrip and fly to Entebbe airport and transfer to your hotel in Entebbe for relaxation.
Day 8: Transfer back to Entebbe airport for your onward flight.
Safari Details
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe airport, meet and greet then transfer to a hotel in Entebbe
You will be met at Entebbe international airport by one of our expert safari guides who will welcome into the Pearl of Africa. From the airport you will be transferred to a hotel within Entebbe airport to unwind from your flight for the rest of the day.

Day 2: Transfer to Entebbe airport and fly to Kisoro airstrip
You will wake up early for breakfast, after you which you transfer to Entebbe airport and catch a domestic flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. During this flight, you will have a bird’s eye view of the Uganda’s ever changing topography that starts with the lowlands or basins that are filled with lush green vegetation cover interjected with human settlement patterns and Lake Victoria, you will see the rising hills both as your get further away from Entebbe and when you’re about land, you will be welcomed by a thick forest blanket that engulfs the ranges of Bwindi as this park sits at the edges of the Western arm of the great East African rift valley.

Day 2: Engage in a Kigali city tour in the morning and an afternoon transfer to Bwindi
Day 2 will have you engage in a morning Kigali city tour, during this city tour, you visit the Kigali genocide memorial museum. This museum captures the horror of the 1994 Rwanda genocide in which this country fell into turmoil as over 800, 000 are believed to have died as the Hutu people massacred the Tutsi in a period of about 90 days. At the end of the city tour, you will commence on a 180km or 3-4 hours drive to Bwindi forest park in South western Uganda. You will spend the rest of the day relaxing at the lodge as you enjoy the sights and sounds of Bwindi

Day 3: Gorilla habituation day. Spending 4 hours with the gorillas
This is the day you get to meet the elusive Mountain gorillas as you engage in a gorilla habituation experience. You will wake up quite early in the morning to have breakfast at 6:00am. After breakfast, you will transfer to Rushaga tracking point and be taken through a short briefing. After briefing, with the park rangers in the lead you will start you gorilla habituation excursion into the forest. Upon meeting the gorillas, you will spend 4 hours watching them go about their daily routines. You will return to the tracking center where your safari guide will be waiting for and you will be transferred back to the lodge and relax for the rest of the day.

Day 4: Enjoy a thrilling nature walk from Nkuringo to Buhoma
Today will see you check out of Nkuringo lodge and embark on a spectacular walk through the Bwindi forest that follows the Ivy trail from Nkuringo in the Southern end of Bwindi to Buhoma in the North Western end of the park. The walk covers a distance of about 15km or 7miles following river Ivy and it will expose to you to what Bwindi is all about as you will get to see pristine nature of Bwindi in all its glory. This walk is done with the help of a ranger will help you appreciate the forest and porters at an extra cost if you need their needed. This walk can be done in about 4-6 hours depending on your physical fitness and when you finally make it to Buhoma your guide will be there waiting to transfer you to the lodge where you will have lunch from and spend the rest of the evening relaxing to regain your energy.

Day 5: Transfer to Kisoro airstrip, fly to Kasese airstrip then 1.5 hours road transfer to Kibale
You will depart your lodge in Bwindi very early in the morning after having breakfast and transfer to Kisoro airstrip then take a 1 hour domestic flight to Kasese airstrip. Upon your arrival here, you will be received by another guide from our company who will then drive to Kibale national park which lies about 110km or 1.5-2 hours’ drive away from Kasese.

Day 6: Meet the Chimpanzees and visit Bigodi community
The morning of this day kicks off with an amazing breakfast that is aimed at energizing for the chimpanzee trek that’s ahead of you. You will report to the park center in Kanyanchu where you get to go through a short briefing about the entire chimpanzee trekking experience From here in a company of park ranger, embark on jungle walk as you search for these great humans of the wild the chimpanzees and the highlight of the day will be when you get to meet these exciting creatures you will be wowed by how much in common we do have with these great apes as they laugh, hug and kiss just like humans do and also look after the young ones. Besides the chimpanzees, you should also not miss out on the sightings of several other primates that call this forest their home and these include the black and white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, Grey monkeys. After the chimpanzee encounter which lasts an hour of pure enjoyment return to the park center where your trekking efforts are rewarded with a trekking certificate. After this really exciting chimpanzee encounter you’ve just had, you will return to your lodge for lunch then transfer to Bigodi community and engage in a rather fascinating cultural exchange experience as interact with the locals here who will show you how they go about their daily lives.

Day 7: Transfer to Kasese airstrip and fly back to Entebbe
This is the final day of your safari with us and you will wake up early for breakfast, then transfer to Kasese airstrip which about 1.5- 2 hours drive away from Kibale and fly to Entebbe airport with the flight lasting about an 1 hour. Upon landing at Entebbe, you will be received by our guide who will drive you to your hotel in Entebbe which is located about a 30 minutes’ drive away from the airport

Day 8: Transfer to Entebbe airport in time for your outbound flight
Depending on the time for checking in for your departure flight, your guide will pick you up from the hotel and then drive you back to the airport for your onward flight and this ends your safari with us.
