Safari Highlights

  • Day 1: Morning pick up from your hotel in Entebbe and transfer to Bwindi Park.
  • Day 2: Today, you will engage in gorilla trekking in Bwindi.
  • Day 3: Transfer to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will undertake a game drive. 
  • Day 4: you will enjoy a morning game drive in Ishasha before crossing to Kasenyi sector of Queen Elizabeth Park
  • Day 5: Day 5 will see you enjoy a morning game drive and afternoon Kazinga Channel boat cruise and transfer to Kibale

Detailed tour itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi with an enroute stop at the Equator monument

You will be picked up by our company expert safari guide that has been assigned to lead you on this safari adventure of a life time, you will embark on this 8 -9hour journey covering about 520km. During this amazing journey, you will make an enroute stop at the Equator which is 77km from Kampala where you get to have an equator experience on how to differentiate the Northern from the Southern hemispheres and also have a photo moment. From here you will proceed with the journey. Enjoy a locally inspired lunch buffet at Igongo country hotel. Continue with your journey to Bwindi passing through the beautiful Mirama hills that have been tamed by locals who are growing bananas and other foods stuffs on the slopes of these hills. Along the way lookout for sightings of local people engaging in their daily routines such as riding bicycles loaded with farm produces such bananas. You won’t also miss to see women carrying their children monkey style as they have them strapped in their backs.

Day 2: Do Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable NP 

Today is the day you will get to meet the incredible gorillas while on this Uganda safari tour! You will be transferred to starting point where a small briefing ensues after which you will set off into the jungle on your search for the gorillas in the lead of a very skilled armed ranger guide who will also help you make sense of the numerous attractions that you will find along the search for the gorillas and these include several of the 350 bird species that have made this park an incredible birding destination to many birders on their Uganda birding adventure. Several other primates such as Black and White colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys might also come your way and some of the 27 Lizard species like the three horned chameleons can be spotted. On seeing the gorillas, you have a full hour with these magical beings to watch them as they go about their daily lives. After the lapse of your time with the gorillas you will return to the lodge to relax as you wind down from this gorilla trekking experience and also wait for dinner to be served.

Day 3: Transfer to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for an afternoon game drive.

This day is a bit relaxed and you will wake up at 7:30am for breakfast then start off your drive north wards to Ishsasha sector of Queen Elizabeth Park, on arrival to this sector, you will indulge in a fascinating game drive through this sector which is aimed at giving you an opportunity to come face to face with the tree climbing lions that have made this part of Queen Elizabeth Park a place that should never be missed on any Uganda safari adventure to this park. After about 2-3 hours of exploring this sector, you will check in to your lodge here and have a lunch break. You can decide to spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at the lodge as you take in the weeping views of the Ishasha wilderness or you can venture out again and enjoy another round of game drive here before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Have a morning game drive in Ishasha and drive to Kasenyi sector

This day is dedicated to have you try your luck to see if you can still see more wild game in Ishasha as you undertake a morning game drive in this sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. After this game drive, you will depart Ishasha and head for Kasenyi which lies about 100km or 1.5-2 hours drive away from Ishasha. You will check into your lodge and have lunch and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at the lodge

Day 5: Do morning game drive in the Kasenyi sector, afternoon Kazinga Channel boat cruise 

After having breakfast at 6:00am, you will start off the day with a spectacular game drive traversing the Kasenyi sector of this park  which is largely dominated by savanna grasslands hence being a  favorite habitat to a wide variety of savanna wild mammals such as the African Bush elephants, the Cape buffaloes, the Topis and many other Antelope species If its you’re lucky day, you might as well come to encounter some of the apex predators of the savanna plains which the King of the African savanna the Mighty Lions, the Spotted Hyenas and Leopards all of which call this park their home. After about 2-3 hours of exploring the Kasenyi sector, you will end the game drive and transfer to one of the finest bush restaurants here to have your picnic lunch break while surrounded by the endless plains of Queen Elizbeth Park. From here, you transfer to the Mweya jetty where you will engage in a stunning boat ride along the famous Kazinga channel. During this cruise, you have an opportunity to come up close and personal with several of the water dwellers of this Channel which include the large schools of Hippos and this channel boosts of being to the highest concentration of Hippos in the world numbering to a staggering 5000 stronghold, If it’s a sunny day, numerous Nile crocodiles are usually sighted basking along the sandy banks of this channel. If you have a passion for birds then this boat ride provides to you an opportunity to site several water bird species that constitute a good percentage of the 600 birds that call this park their home. At the end of this cruise, you will enjoy a game drive along the channel track with in the Mweya peninsular as you get out fo the park and proceed with your 1.5-2 hours drive to Kibale forest Park.

Day 6: Engage in chimpanzee trekking and visit Bigodi community 

The morning of this day kicks off with an amazing breakfast that is aimed at energizing for the chimpanzee trek that’s ahead of you. The commences with a short briefing at the park center after which you will embark on jungle walk as you search for these great humans of the wild the chimpanzees and the highlight of the day will be when you get to meet these exciting creatures you will be wowed by how much in common we do have with these great apes as they laugh, hug and kiss just like humans do and also look after the young ones. Besides the chimpanzees, you should also not miss out on the sightings of several other primates that call this forest their home and these include the black and white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, Grey monkeys. After the chimpanzee encounter which lasts an hour of pure enjoyment return to the park center where your trekking efforts are rewarded with a trekking certificate. In the afternoon after having your lunch, you will visit Bigodi community for  community encounter with the locals and see how they live their daily lives, watch them or even engage in some of their days to day activities such coffee picking, local brew making and as you undertake this community thriller, you will take part in the coffee-making process right from planting process, harvesting red ripe coffee berries, sun drying process, then coffee pounding and finally making your own cup of coffee that is freshly brewed from the coffee that’s grown by these locals. At the end of your cultural exchange, you will return to the lodge and have dinner.

Day 7: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with an enroute lunch stop in Hoima

This day will see you transfer to Murchison Falls National park. Murchison Falls Park lies about 310km or 6-7 hours’ drive through rural Uganda which makes this journey quite fascinating for a first-time traveler in this country. You will have a lunch stop in Hoima. Along the way from Kibale, look out for beautiful sightings of large tea plantations which cover the gentle hills of Fort portal and Kibale. You can take a moment to pose for photos here. If you visit coincides with the harvesting period, you will be mesmerized by the tea harvesting process which involves laborers carry large baskets over their backs which they fill with the tea leaves plucked at a lightning speed. You will make a lunch stop in Hoima town before you finally proceed to the rest of the journey to Murchison Park

Day 8: Enjoy a morning game drive and an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls

Today you will engage in a stunning morning game drive in Murchison falls National Park and this will give a face to face encounter with the dwellers of this park such as 4 of the Africa’s big five lions, African elephants, leopards and cape buffaloes among many others like giraffes and a multitudes of birds. In the afternoon you will enjoy a mind-blowing boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison falls and the thunderous roar from these falls will surely let you know why they are referred to us the world’s strongest water falls. From here, you will hike to the top of these magnificent falls where you will be able to take numerous pictures in order to immortalize your visit forever.

Day 9: Visit the top of the falls, drive to Ziwa sanctuary for Rhino trekking and transfer back to Entebbe airport

Today you will check out of the lodge after having breakfast, you will visit the top of Murchison falls which will captivate your imagination with its sheer beauty as you will view these falls in their might as you see this big volume of water squeeze itself in this 7 meter gorge before plumenting 46 meter below to create this plume of water and a rainbow on a sunny day. You will drive out of Murchison falls park towards Ziwa sanctuary which is located about 150km or 2.5-3 hours drive away from the park, while here, you will have a chance to see the Rhinos as this is the only place where Rhinos can be found in Uganda. You will visit Kabalega dinners at the end of your rhino trekking adventure and have lunch before you embark your remaining journey back to Entebbe airport which shouldn’t exceed 3-4 hours depending on the traffic flow. Your arrival at the airport signifies the end of your safari with us.
