This 10 Rwanda Kenya Gorilla & wildlife safari comes with the best possible opportunity of encountering the primates of Rwanda as well as several of the savanna wild mammals of Kenya. While on this Rwanda safari, you are in for a memorable encounter with both the giant Mountain gorillas as well the rather shy but yet fascinating Golden monkeys since both of these primates call Volcanoes National Park home. On top of your primate encounters, you are still in for stunning views of some of the best savanna wild mammals as you get to visit the Mara North conservancy, Olare Motorogi Conservancy and Amboseli National Park that have been earmarked for this particular African odyssey.
Safari Highlight
Day 1: Arrive at Kigali airport, you will be picked up by our safari guide and then commence your transfer to Volcanoes Park with a visit to Kigali genocide museum
Day 2: Engage in an epic gorilla trekking adventure in Volcanoes Park and also visit Ibyi’awcu community for a cultural experience.
Day 3: Enjoy a second gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes
Day 4: Today you will engage in Golden monkey trekking and transfer back to Kigali to catch your flight to Jomo Kenyatta airport in Kenya for the second phase of this safari
Day 5: Transfer to Wilson airport and fly to Amboseli National Park where you will engage in an afternoon game drive
Day 6: Spend the whole of day 6 exploring Amboseli National park.
Day 7: Today you will transfer to Amboseli airstrip then fly to Wilson airport for your next flight to Olare Motorogi conservancy and enjoy an afternoon game drive here.
Day 8: Day 8 will have you drive to Mara North conservancy for both a morning and an afternoon game drive
Day 9: You will spend another day exploring the Mara North conservancy for more game viewing opportunities
Day 10: This is the last day of this safari and you will transfer to Mara North airstrip to catch your flight to Wilson airstrip.
Detailed safari itinerary
Day 1: Meet and greet at the airport, visit to the genocide museum and drive to Volcanoes Park.
Upon your arrival to Kigali International airport, you will be picked up by one of our safari guides who will warmly welcome to Rwanda – the land of a thousand hills. You will kick off this safari with a visit to Kigali genocide memorial museum. This museum captures the horror of the 1994 Rwanda genocide in which this country fell into turmoil as over 800, 000 are believed to have died as the Hutu people massacred the Tutsi in a period of about 90 days. After you visit to the memorial, you embark on your transfer to Volcanoes park, home to the biggest primates on earth the giant mountain gorillas. This 110km or 2.5-3 hours journey to Volcanoes National Park takes you on a spectacular journey through the countryside of this rather pristine country. You will get to encounter numerous Rwandans going about their daily activities and these will range from trade to farming their lands. Also, expect to be blown away by the amazing rolling hills of Rwanda which surely confirm to you why this country is referred to as the land of a thousand hills.

Day 2: Meet the gorillas and visit Ibyi’wacu community
This day you will get you to actually meet the gorillas as you engage in a memorable gorilla trekking experience which will have you meet these gentle giants in their natural habitat. You will spend an hour observing these majestic creatures in order to have an understanding about their habits which aren’t far from our own. In the afternoon after returning from the trek, you will engage in a community visit to Ibyi’wacu community which is found on the peripherals of this park. Here you will get to see for yourself firsthand how these locals have managed to share these lands with the wild dwellers that are so close to them. You will also get to see how the park has immensely helped in improving the lives of these communities as way of ensuring that they peacefully co-exist with gorillas without getting the urge to hunt them.

Day 3: Second gorilla trekking experience
Because gorillas are so captivating and perhaps a single hour, isn’t sufficient to observe them to your fullest, we have dedicated this day to give another round of gorilla trekking so that you get a second opportunity to see the magnificent creatures. The beauty of this second trek, you can actually trek a different gorilla family altogether so that you get to see how this family goes about its day in these Volcanoes ranges.

Day 4: Epic golden monkey trek, drive back to Kigali airport for a flight to Nairobi
Day 4 of this African safari tour, will see you get to trek these rather shy but intriguing Golden monkeys that reside in the jungles of Volcanoes Park, you will wake up early for breakfast after which you will be given a briefing just like they did for the gorilla trekking. After this briefing you will embark on a guided jungle walk as you track down where the elusive monkeys are. When you find them. You will have an hour with these monkeys to observe and photograph to your satisfaction. At the lapse of this hour, you will begin your journey back to the starting point where your volcanoes adventure comes to an end. You will be transferred back to Kigali airport where you will catch your flight to Kenya and land at Jomo Kenyatta Intl. airport where you will be received by our Kenyan guide who will transfer you to hotel in Nairobi city.

Day 5: Fly to Amboseli and do game drives
On day 5, you will have an early morning breakfast after which you then transfer to Wilson airport for your flight to Amboseli National Park. The flight to Amboseli is relatively a short one and it will last about an hour give or take. Upon landing in Amboseli you will be picked by our safari guide who welcome you to this park. Your Amboseli safari experience begins with 2 stunning game drives. A game drive in Amboseli is nothing short of spectacular because this park is highly revered for its large population of Elephants, Cape buffaloes and many other wild animals such as Lions, Cheetahs and Zebras, Giraffes and Wildebeests hence you will be in a pristine position to several of the above-mentioned animals. At the end of the day you will go back to your lodge happy to have chosen this park as part of your destinations to visit.

Day 6: Spend the whole of day 6 traversing Amboseli National Park
Day 6 will have you waking up in Amboseli national park. The beauty of waking up in Amboseli national park is that on a clear day, you’re in for dramatic sightings of the Kilimanjaro snow capped top which forms a spectacular back drop to this park. Mountain Kilimanjaro is the roof top of Africa as it rises upto the elevation of 5895m above sea level hence giving you a beautiful coat of white on its top which very visible from anywhere you stand in this park. This day is all about Amboseli and you will spend it conversing different corners of this park to see what they have in store for you.

Day 7: Fly to Wilson airport for a second connecting flight to Olare Motorogi Conservancy
You will transfer to Amboseli airstrip then fly back to Wilson airstrip. From Wilson airstrip, you will catch another domestic flight to Olare Motorogi conservancy. Upon arriving here, you will engage in a game drive to see what Olare Motorogi has in store for you. Olare Motorogi is one of the few least frequented part by tourists visiting the Mara area yet its fully loads with wild game. This conservancy prides itself in having one of the highest concentration of predators on the African continent which means that you are in for some unforgettable encounters with these predators of Olare Motorogi which include Lions, Leopards, cheetahs and many others.

Day 8: Unlimited game dries in Mara North Conservancy
Today you will engage in a full day exploration of Mara North Conservancy. This conservancy just like Olare Motorogi is one of the least visited parts of the Mara eco system hence giving you chance to enjoy game drives here with few other tourists which means better chances of enjoying views without interruptions from many tourist vehicles. Most of the Mara predators are present here together with other animals such as Wildebeests, Zebras, the African Elephants and many others.

Day 9: Full day to be spent in Mara North
You will spend this day exploring Mara North conservancy as well.

Day 10: Fly back to Wilson then transfer to Jomo Kenyatta airport for your onward flight
This is the last day of this tour and you will wake up and have breakfast, after which you will transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Wilson airstrip. You will be picked up then transfer to a hotel in Nairobi to have lunch as you wait for the check in time for your departure flight.
