Safari Highlight
Day 1: Arrive at Kigali airport, you will be picked up by our safari guide and then commence your journey to Bwindi Park with a visit to Kigali genocide museum
Day 2: Engage in a morning Kigali city tour and drive to Bwindi
Day 3: Enjoy a walking safari from Buhoma to Nkuringo as you follow the Ivy trail.

Detailed safari itinerary
Day 1: Arrival, pick up from Kigali airport and transfer to a hotel
Upon your arrival to Kigali International airport, you will be picked up by one of our safari guides who will warmly welcome to Rwanda – the land of a thousand hills and transfer you to your already pre-booked hotel in Kigali.

Day 2: Kigali city tour and drive to Bwindi
You will kick off this safari with a visit to Kigali genocide memorial museum. This museum captures the horror of the 1994 Rwanda genocide in which this country fell into turmoil as over 800, 000 are believed to have died as the Hutu people massacred the Tutsi in a period of about 90 days. After you visit to the memorial, you embark on your transfer to Bwindi park, home to the biggest primates on earth the giant mountain gorillas. This 200km or 4-6 hours journey to Bwindi National Park takes you on a spectacular journey through the countryside of this rather pristine country. You will get to encounter numerous Rwandans going about their daily activities and these will range from trade to farming their lands. Also, expect to be blown away by the amazing rolling hills of Rwanda which surely confirm to you why this country is referred to as the land of a thousand hills.

Day 3: Engage in a spectacular nature walking experience as you follow the Ivy trail
This day will have you wake up to melodic sounds of Bwindi that consists of numerous birds twittering interjected by various animals calls that call Bwindi their home. you have a breakfast after which you will check out of the lodge and embark on a 14 km or 9miles nature walk which will have you follow the footpaths that are used by locals that live adjacent to this park as well as river Ivy which the trail generally follows. While on this natural walk you will enjoy magical sightings of an array of the dwellers of this park which will range from monkeys, butterflies and many locals going about their day to day lives. This walk takes anywhere between 4-6 hours depending on the level of your physical fitness but it will be worth all your energy by the time you complete it.

Day 4: Meet the gorillas of Bwindi
This day you will get you to actually meet the gorillas as you engage in a memorable gorilla trekking experience which will have you meet these gentle giants in their natural habitat. You will spend an hour observing these majestic creatures in order to have an understanding about their habits which aren’t far from our own.

Day 5: Drive back to Kigali where your safari with us ends
The final day of this safari is very relaxed, you will wake up a bit late but still in time for breakfast. After having your breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and commence you return journey back to Kigali airport which lasts about 3-4 hours. Your arrival to the airport concludes your safari with us.
