This park is located only 50km away from Arusha hence its about an hour’s drive from the regional town of Arusha. This park is one of the smaller parks of the Northern Tanzanian circuit and it is largely dominated by lake Manyara an alkaline lake which attracts large herds of animals that come to drink a bit of its salty waters. Although small, a game drive in this park puts you on a collision course with several savanna wild mammals which include elephants, wildebeests, giraffes, hippos and zebras that are found in this park in large numbers. At the end of your game drive, you will check into your lodge here and have a lunch break after which you will then set off for a second game drive in the park.

These people have maintained very minimal external influence and upto today they keep very few properties and with no domesticated animals, food crops grown or kept, they entirely depend on hunting and food gathering for their survival. Their diet is mainly plant based supplemented with the meat got from hunting hence giving you a sneak pick into how the early humans survived. The Hadza people speak a unique language called the Hadzane which consists of clicking sounds just like the Khoi Khoi and the San people of Southern Africa. Given the area where they reside is the same where the earliest remains of humans where discovered dating 1.9 millions ago, it isn’t surprising the Hadza tribe offers one of the oldest DNA lineages of modern humans living today.
