I love apes and this was something i wanted to do for a good... read more while, Gorilla O Clock organised everything to suit our needs specifically, it was so handy that as soon as we landed everything was taken care of for us. Just one of the many examples of this was for my dietary requirements, I'm vegan and I was a bit concerned that I would have trouble finding food to eat but Gorilla O Clock informed the lodges ahead of time and explained the my preferences on my behalf so I didn't need to worry about it.

The guides were fantastic, we had Amos and Julius and they were extremely pleasant to be around and they were very eager to cater to any of our needs.

Put simply I couldn't recommend Gorilla O Clock enough they helped make it an unforgettable experience and I will no doubt be back!

The combination of our guide Modi in the Serengeti was maybe the single best trip of experience of our lives anywhere in the world. In just one day in the Serengeti we saw 36 lions with two kills and male lion babysitting cubs. A cheetah take down a bushbuck, lions mating, etc. Modi is an amazing guide — a gem. With him in addition to seeing just about every animal you would want we saw over 300 species on birds including a bunch of the endemics and rare birds. With Modi there is always something great to see all day long.

We did a 15 day custom trip with Gorilla O'clock in Tanzania and Kenya. The locations were excellent for both wildlife and birding. The lodgings were first rate. All the details were there for a nearly seamless experience. In summary, Gorilla O'clock will take your Safari experience to the next level.

Our guide, Gilbert, was excellent! He can spot wildlife like no other,... read more and knows when to linger a bit longer. Just wait, and those lions will get up and move on within a few minutes they did. His advice was always ideal, from suggested tipping amounts for our additional guides, to locating ATMs and services.
Everything was on time. Vehicle was awesome and always clean and stocked with water.
Lodges were excellent. Clean and comfortable. And the meals were wonderful (though much more food than I would normally eat). All lodges had fantastic locations for lunch and dinner, often with views of landscape and animals.
The highlight of our trip was the gorilla trek. An opportunity of a lifetime, to see these majestic and gentle creatures from such a close proximity was remarkable.
Gorilla O’clock went well out of their way to insure our trip was the best it could be. The airlines lost our luggage, and the Gorilla O’clock family coordinated to get our luggage to us. No small feat!

  Amazing bucket list trip made perfect by Gorilla O’clock. - It is hard to write this review as I don’t think I can actually accurately portray what an amazing company Gorilla O’clock is.
I was planning a trip for 3... read more couples. I had been to Uganda twice for work and knew I wanted to return with my husband and some friends who also wanted to see this amazing country’s wildlife. We had an odd start with another company so I needed to pivot to a different company. I reviewed the plan we had with Paul online and then he perfected it. The professional plan he put together outlining our 8 days was remarkable. He tailored it to our specific needs and wants and provided thorough explanations for the plan and improved a few of our accommodation suggestions. His communication was timely and his costs were remarkably reasonable, I will add that Brussles Airlines did not deliver our baggage until day 4 and refused to deliver it to our location in Queen Elizabeth Park. Paul worked his network to find someone to deliver our baggage an 8 hours drive away.and Elvis went to the airport twice to get our bags. This is not their responsibility and yet there they were helping enormously. We got our bags before we ventured into Bwindi which is what we were most stressed about.
Now onto the tour! Our driver/guide was the absolutely delightful, incredibly knowledgeable Gilbert! He was informative and pleasant to talk to over the 8 days. We could not have asked for a better guide and driver. He truly seems to love what he does and that certainly influences those around him.
We stayed in Entebbe our first day and a half to adjust to the time zone changes and recover from our long flights. Then we flew to Queen Elizabeth Park. There were so many Elephants it was magical!!! Hippos on land and water were plentiful as were both Cape and Water Buffalo.
We saw a bizarre a mount of lions. females with cubs, young males and older males with full manes. We even had one at dusk growling annd voicing and walking next to our vehicle. Wow! Also I had low expectations in seeing leopards..and poof Gilbert spotted one in a tree! We also saw a female with 2 cubs playing one day. Gilbert seems so intuitive on when animals would be ready to move and where they would go so he could position us for best sight lines. This is a man with years of experience and patience. We knew when he would say, “If we wait these animals will move” that we should wait! We stayed in 2 lodges in QE a park; Marafiki SafariLodge and the Ishasha Jungle Lodge. I would highly recommend both!!!
The Gorilla Trek in Bwindi was so remarkable. It’s hard to describe what an amazing experience it was to walk in this forest and stand/crouch and watch these breathtakingly beautiful animals. The hikes in tot he different families are graded easy, medium, hard. I can only speak for our “easy” level which Gilbert secured for us! It was a challenging walk up/down hills at elevations we were not accustomed to. Most of our group had trained at home to manage hill walking efficiently so the walk was nice. We were on a reasonable, well tarvelled, packed trail the entire way and our family of gorillas was on a rest break sitting next to the trail snacking on leaves when we came upon them. For an hour they remained in place and we marvelled at their human similarity and gorilla uniqueness. We hired porters which was certainly helpful when having to step down off roots and thru mud. Our travelling group ranged in age from 56-69 and it was helpful to have a bit of assistance. These individuals have walked miles in hopes of being hired and it was good to have someone carry our packs and lend a hand for the entire time in the forest. In Bwindi we stayed at the Engagi Lodge. The pictures online do not do it justice. The cabins and the main lodge are absolutely beautiful. See my reviews on lodges mentioned separately on Trip Advisor.
After Bwindi we made our way to our stoppin gpoint for the next night. We requested no more than 4 hour drives between parks as we prefer no long drives to reach our destinations. So we arrived at Lake Bunyonyi for a relaxing afternoon at the BirdsNestResort. We did a nice little boat ride to learn about the area and then had a swim in their pool and enjoyed a relaxing dinner before we headed out the next day to reach Lake Mburo national park. What an amazing park that was. We stayed at Mihingo Lodge. What a wonderful place to stay with amazing rooms and the views!!!! We did a walking safari our second day with park ranger, Moses. We were astonished to find our walking safari was to get out and walk amongst a herd of giraffes!!! We were within feet of these beautiful animals as they grazed on treetops and roamed about u phased by our presence. Moses has worked since childhood in some capacity in this park and was so knowledgeable, warm and welcoming, He was incredibly knowledgeable about his park and the animals he was introducing us to. The whole park was beautiful and we were treated to many giraffes and zebras and an assortment of other animals wandering about.
Gilbert transported us back to our hotel where we spent the evening and left in the wee hours of the morning to catch our flight.
I have been on 2 short safaris in the past with other companies. I can tell you to not bother with another company, simply contact Gorilla O’Clock. Professional, accurate, responsive, timely, kind, knowledgeable, efficient.i could go on and on. Just book with them!!
