From the first moment I spoke with Paul, I immediately knew I would be in good hands. His approach to planning my safari was a series of emails and phone calls; he is easily and seemingly always reachable via Whatsapp. He took the time to hear both what was important to me to see during my visit to Uganda and also determine the settings and level of travel I was comfortable with. With seeming pleasure, he modified itineraries until we got to the perfect blend of experiences that met the budget. He also appreciated my need to have quiet rooms at the various locations and even personally went to check out some rooms for me prior to my arrival!! We talked so many times, I got to know his wonderful family before my visit. Paul made the experience of planning my Uganda visit completely comfortable. Paul determined the importance of bird sightings and bird photography for my visit and arranged to have a special bird guide join us at several of the stops. As I was a solo traveler, Paul not only met me at the airport upon arrival, but joined me for several parts of my visit to make sure the experience went as planned. I also got to meet his wonderful family and got an insider's tour of both Entebbe and Kampala. He was a pleasure to travel with and I was very glad to have him with me as he made all aspects of the visit seamless. The hotel selection in Entebbe (Karibu Hotel) was awesome. My room very quiet, the staff were awesome and the food was delicious. We had success in finding the Shoebill Stork in Mabamba Swamp and I got to see lots of endemic birds in and around Entebbe, particularly at the Botanical Gardens. We took a short plane ride to a lake where again Paul arranged for a local bird expert to meet us for birding on and around the lake. Paul had me stay at the Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge. It was spectacular! The villas, the views, the staff and food were all over the top. It was a perfect place to use as a base for Gorilla tracking. Paul took into account that I have some back issues when planning my Gorilla experience. He choose a part of the Bwindi forest that is a bit less steep. It worked out perfectly. My Gorilla experience is something I will never forget and I am ready to go back and do it again! We ended my trip with a few days in the capital city of Kampala and a stay at the Latitude 0 Hotel. This very chic hotel choice was a perfect way to wind down my stay. Paul and his staff at Gorilla O'Clock put together a perfect visit that met and exceeded all my expectations. They were professional and really took the time to make sure my visit met all my expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend Gorilla O'Clock to anyone thinking of visiting Uganda. Paul's company also arranges trips to Kenya and Tanzania. I will be back to Uganda and will certainly be using Gorilla O'Clock for all my future visits.   Kenya & Tanzania dream safari  - Prior to choosing Gorilla O’clock as our tour operator, I had done hours of research looking into the best ways to have our safari experience become a dream come true... read more reality. Paul made that happen. Our experience and interaction with Paul was nonetheless the best travel experience I have encountered. Despite being based in Uganda Paul had arranged for us our complete itinerary for 6 days which including the Masai Mara in Kenya and Serengeti and Ngorongoro in Tanzania. Initially I had reached out to Paul with several questions and a must do list of things I didn’t want to compromise on. He provided us with three different itineraries with several options from which we chose one that was well designed and one that fit well within our budget. Paul was incredibly helpful, genuine and honest and corresponding with him made our planning less stressful. He even helped purchase our train tickets to and from Nairobi/Mombasa because we were unable to buy them ourselves. Paul is exceptionally thoughtful and personable, he really cares about the experience his customers have. He even checked in with us during our Safari and after. He was flexible to accommodate other tours of our choice at short notice. The visit to the Batwa community village was exceptional. It is important to note that wearing sturdy shoes visiting the villages is helpful with the climbs on some hilly terrains. The tour company was very helpful with guiding us and preparing us before our visit. The service was very personalized and visiting Uganda was the highlight of our entire Africa travel itinerary. My friends and I opted to take the 4 hour Habiutation Experiece. The Gorillas themselves were amazing. The day of our expedition, we started out early morning, trekking in search of gorilla families. Please note this is NOT guranteed and the time you spend looking for a family is dependent as they gorilla families are constatnly on the move.

The 4 hour experience is for gorilla families who are not familiar with human presence, so there was no interation and just observation. We saw one silverback and the about a 6-8 younger members of the family. We were approximately 10-15 feet (3-5 meters) away. We spent 3 hours just quietly watching them eat and interact with each other. It was truly amazing. If you're looking for an experinece that is POTENTIALLY (not guranteed) a more interactive experience, the 1 hour experience maybe better suited.

Pau's is very customer oriented. We communicated via WhatsApp multiple times so that he can help arrange our itinerary for the entire week. He was honest and candid about what actitivies were "worth it" and what isn't. He provided us with two options for lodging (Budget and Moderate). Given the moderate option was only a couple hundered USD more, we opted for that and couldnt' have been happier.

Kalif was our driver for the entire week. I loved that he took time out every evening to go over our itinerary for the next day. He was also great in being flexible for some last minute requests or providing us with insights along the drives.

We chose to independently arrange our lodging for the first day (of arrival) and the last 2 days in Entebbe. In retrospect, we should've asked Paul for advice.. He has great taste and will provide you with the best lodging for your budget.

I would and have recommended Gorilla O'Clock to my friends and colleagues who were also interested in the Gorilla Experince.
